The StartOps Team
TLDR:
Inco Talent is a UK- and US-based executive recruiting firm that specializes in ops talent for high-growth consumer brands.
Basic info
Year founded: 2018
Team size: 11-50
HQ location: Miami, FL / Birmingham, UK
Regions served: USA, UK, EMEA
What’s the story?
Inco Talent was founded in 2018 when Ali Marshall left his corporate recruiting job to establish a freestanding supply chain division within Brookwood Recruitment.
Initially focused on UK market, he built a team to find the best ops talent for 3PLs, retailers, and e-commerce brands.
They are now rapidly expanding into the US market, with an East Coast HQ in Miami.
Who is it for?
High-growth consumer brands with $5M-$75M in revenue who need to scale their operations teams.
Companies going through rapid hiring sprints after achieving product-market fit (or less often, a fundraise).
Brands looking to build out their operations infrastructure, particularly those transitioning from outsourced to in-house operations.
How does it work?
Inco Talent can help brands define their hiring needs — recording job requirements, creating JDs, and beginning a search process.
They have 2 service models:
Traditional retained search — Hire one role at a time, and pay fees as a % of salary.
Subscription — Allows brands to “rent” an Inco Talent recruiter for a set period of time (typically 2-4 months) for a monthly fee, in order to make a pre-set number of hires (typically 5+).
An engagement often ends with Inco Talent helping the brand hire their own in-house recruiter.
What makes it different?
Subscription option — When brands hit an inflection point in growth, they often need to make a lot of senior hires in a short period of time. Paying a salary-based retainer each time can be prohibitively expensive; their subscription model alleviates this issue.
Collaborative ATS — Inco Talent’s service includes use of their collaborative ATS, which lets brands take actions on their candidates directly and massively decreases communication overhead. Customers start seeing candidates within 48 hours of sign-up.
Video screenings — Inco Talent will do a video screen with all initial candidates; hiring managers can quickly skim the videos to avoid “vibe check” calls.
How much does it cost?
Retained search: typically 25% of first-year salary (e.g., $25k fee for $100k role), paid with a smaller portion upfront and the remainder due upon success.
Subscription model: starts at $9,000/month, with guaranteed deliverables.
